A French knight and his loyal mistress are both condemned to be celebrants of the black mass. His mistress is killed and he is beheaded for his deeds, but before the blade can fall he curses everyone involved in the nefarious act. His head and his body are buried in separate locations, so that he cannot rise again. Centuries later the owners of the land of his burial agree to a seance believing it would be amusing to ask where he was buried. At long last the opportunity for revenge is at hand.
