Dario Argento masterfully guites suspense to unbearable limits in The Black Cat. A photographer specializing in documenting grisly crimes (Harvey Keitel) takes an immediate dislike to his girlfriend's adopted cat...and murderously arranges the feline's mysterious "disappearance." But when he encounters another cat that is seemingly linked to his evil deed, he is forced to contemplate another murder, forgetting the inevitable: That cats are known for possessing nine lives.
